Piano chat roulette improv

Everyone has seen chat roulette now, yes it’s great fun, good for a 2 minutes of spontaneity a day – and besides the creepy male stalkers with a special surprise for you (which I have been lucky enough to avoid) – overall a huge success.

This however is the best thing I’ve seen in a while…makes me optimistic of the talent out there – thanks @curiousben for the heads up.

We Have Band – You Came Out

Posted: June 9th, 2009 | Author: admin | Filed under: Design, Fashion, Photography, Work, art, music | Tags: , , , , | No Comments »

We Have Band -You Came Out – official music video. Created by W+K creative team Ida Gronblom & Fabian Berglund and Blinkink director David Wilson. The face paint animation film is made up of 4,816 separate stills. Each and every frame was hand-painted, shot, wiped off and redrawn, slightly differently for the next frame in order to create a seamless sequence. This time-consuming process involved the band members lying still for two consecutive days in a studio.

In order to animate the singing bit, lip movement was created by animating a painted mouth on the singer Dede. This involved breaking the lyrics into phonetics and giving each sound a specific mouth shape. To make this as realistic as possible all the mouth shapes were painted on Dedes face individually and then shot. All 4,816 frames of the music video can be found on Flickr.

Xbox goes for the jugular

I don’t really know what to say to this – if this is indeed going to look and feel like the above clip, Xbox will destroy the Nintendo Wii and the rest of the competition.

Forget little Wii remotes, the Project Natal motion sensing controller is you. Motion detection, facial recognition, voice recogntion…the list goes on and on. Couple that with what else Xbox presented at E3 – full retail games for download by credit card, last.fm, facebook, twitter integration…all in all a pretty impressive show by Microsoft.

Spotify mobile coming to Android

I like Spotify, it’s simple to use, has a decent amount of labels that have signed up and thus has a pretty decent library of tracks. The great thing about Spotify going mobile? – sounds like there will be the ability not only to listen to tracks when you’re online, but also when you’re offline. Check the video out for a preview of what’s to come in the near future…surely this will come out for iPhone and Symbian platforms as well.

Thanks to my main main @juuuso for the heads up.

Synchronous Objects – visualizing choreographic structure in dance

dance

Thanks @furtive for the link a while back. A project collaboration by William Forsythe’s One Flat Thing and ACCAD (Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design) – the study goes into advanced detail about the interlocking systems or organization in choreography.

One of the best sites I’ve seen in a while which educates in such a beautiful, perfectly executed manner. Using data visualization for a reason – I have yet to find a better example of combining artistry, harmony, data and objects in one place. You could literally spend an hour on this site without noticing.
