Another site launches today this time for the Nokia E71 campaign site.  The idea is that all communication – everyday conversations, every business email sent, every text message, voice and video call made are all beautiful if viewed through a different lens. The E71 is one of the most powerful and useful business devices, but is also a stunningly crafted, stylish and beautiful product to hold in your hand.  Everything from the premium metal materials, to the weight you feel when you hold it.

We collaborated with 4 artists to create 4 short films about the beauty of conversation and connectivity.

generate

The site features a message generator engine which can turn any video, voice, or text message into a piece of artwork and be sent to a friend or downloaded as an image with the timestamp of when the message was taken.  Visit the message generator section to try it out.

Finally we created a mobile app with Marius Watz which lets users send text message to eachother and see the message transform to art before sending it off by mms.  you can download if from the text art section of the site, or more easily just go to the site at nokia.co.uk/e71 on your mobile and you can download it from the mobi version of the site straight to your Symbian S60 (Nokia devices only, may work on other handsets with Java). Please excuse the rough video walkthrough which doesn’t do it justice.

UPDATE: Here’s another video posted by someone from Symbian Addict.

Big thanks to Hi-ReS!, Universal Everything, Carl Burgess, Shft, Marius Watz and field .

The film traces the artist’s daily journey between East and North London, documenting signs, road names, overheard conversations and ads. It is a study of the everyday things that become landmarks on the journey between two people.

‘Visually I wanted the feeling of a condensed connection, a dense torrent of information connecting people,’ Carl Burgess
